Privacy statement
This site has no accounts, no forms that send data to a server, no cookies, no advertising and no tracking. Melox (see above) is responsible for the little personal data that is involved, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Visiting the site
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and the technical details your browser sends (browser type, the page asked for) to deliver the page and to block attacks. We do not get a list of visitors. Cloudflare processes this on our behalf under its data processing terms; when data goes to the United States it is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Basis: our legitimate interest in running a working, safe website.
Visitor counts
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many pages are viewed. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not follow you across sites; we only see totals. Basis: legitimate interest.
When you email info@hookdev.io, or send an idea from the idea box (that opens your own mail app), your message and email address reach us through Cloudflare Email Routing and are stored in a mailbox at Google (Gmail). We use them only to read and answer your message, and delete them when they are no longer needed, at the latest two years after the last contact. Google is also covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Basis: your request, and our legitimate interest in answering it.
Fonts and links
All fonts, scripts and images come from this site itself; nothing is loaded from other companies. Links to other sites (such as GitHub) take you there, and from then on their privacy policy applies.
Stored on your own device
Some settings are kept in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them. They never leave your device and we cannot read them. A Share link of the process simulator carries the plant in the link itself, after the #: that part is never sent to the server. Because they are only there for features you use yourself, no consent banner is needed. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
| Key | What it remembers | Kept |
|---|---|---|
hook-sound, hook-crt | Whether sound and CRT mode are on | Until you clear it |
hook-ach, hook-visited | The achievements you found and the pages you saw for them | Until you clear it |
hook-booted | That you have seen the boot screen, so it shows only once | Until you clear it |
hook-conv | The last unit and settings in the Process Converter | Until you clear it |
hook-sim | Your plant in the process simulator and your best challenge scores, so they are still there next time | Until you clear it |
hook-px | Plays the pixel transition when you go to the next page | Until you close the tab |
Your rights
You can ask us which personal data we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, limit its use, object to it or send you a copy. Mail info@hookdev.io; we answer within a month. We do not sell data and make no automated decisions about you. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
The small print
- Tools are for reference. The mini tools are made with care, but they can contain mistakes. Never rely on them alone for anything that matters: in a real plant, check values against your own procedures and approved sources. They are free and come without any warranty.
- The simulator is a learning game. The process simulator shows how a plant behaves in a simplified way: its numbers, models and procedures are made up for practice and do not come from any real plant. It is no certified operator training and no replacement for the training, procedures and instructions of a real plant. Never use it to decide anything in a real plant.
- Mods are provided as is. Setpoint is released under the MIT license and Bleep under the GNU GPL v3.0: both free to use, without warranty. Back up your worlds before you install a mod.
- Content. Everything here is shared in good faith but may be incomplete or out of date. To the extent the law allows, Melox is not liable for damage from using this site, its tools or its mods.
- Made with AI. Hook Development builds with the help of AI: much of the code, text and art on this site and in Setpoint was made together with an AI model, then checked and directed by hand.
- Copyright. The site, its pixel art and its texts are © Melox / Hook Development unless stated otherwise. The fonts Silkscreen, Chakra Petch and VT323 are used under the SIL Open Font License.
Minecraft
NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.
Setpoint is a fan-made mod. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. The Minecraft item icons shown in the Setpoint docs come from the game itself and belong to Mojang; they are only there to show which items a recipe needs.
